Our heart projects: Together for the region
At Ingpuls, it has been a tradition for years to forego Christmas cards and gifts and instead support regional heart projects. Our employees select initiatives that are particularly close to their hearts. In recent years, we have already been able to support the Kinderhospizdienst Ruhrgebiet e.V. or the organization “The Bridge” in Bochum.
Our project of the heart 2024: The DRK Wattenscheid Kältebus
The Deutsches Rote Kreuz (DRK) “Kältebus” in Wattenscheid was chosen for 2024. This project makes a valuable contribution to helping homeless people in our region. In the cold months from October to March, the bus is on the road as soon as temperatures drop to 0°C or below. It provides people in need with hot drinks, warm snacks, sleeping bags, blankets and winter clothing. Medical assistance is also offered if required. The entire project is run by volunteers and financed entirely by donations.
The Kältebus also acts as a heat bus during the summer months. On particularly hot days, water, cooling towels and sunscreen are distributed to people in need to protect them from health risks caused by the heat. In this way, the DRK Wattenscheid ensures that people in need receive the support they need all year round.
Handing over donations and commitment
We recently had the pleasure of handing over our donation and donations in kind to Ms. Kimberley Piske from DRK Wattenscheid. Our colleagues Felix Manhart (Marketing & Communication), Tanja Reichenberg (Finance) and Kevin Großmann (Quality Management) were present at the handover and were able to get an idea of the important work of the Kältebus.
Kevin Großmann, der selbst Erfahrung in der Arbeit beim DRK mitbringt, betont:
“The Kältebus from the DRK Wattenscheid is not only an important institution for homeless people in our region, but also testifies to the great solidarity and willingness to help in our society. From my personal experience in Deutsches Rote Kreuz work, I know how important it is to support such projects. That’s why I think it’s great that Ingpuls is making donations to support the Kältebus and all the volunteers in their important work.”
Ms. Kimberley Piske from DRK Wattenscheid adds:
„For us, the Kältebus is an absolutely heartfelt project that we are very happy to support. We are out and about whenever we can and try to help people.”
Felix Manhart also underlines the relevance of such initiatives:
“We are delighted to be able to support a project close to our hearts again this year. The DRK Wattenscheid Kältebus is an impressive example of how much commitment and charity there is in our society. It is important to us to support this work and make it more visible.”
Together for a better future
Our aim is not only to make a financial contribution with our support, but also to draw attention to this important project. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps to improve the lives of people in and around Bochum and to support them in difficult times. We are proud to make a difference together with the DRK Wattenscheid and look forward to continuing to support heartfelt projects that strengthen our region and its people.
